Inspired by the passing of Chris Cornell this multidimensional blog post turned podcast delves into suicide, depression, and the role of benzodiazepines mixed with depression can play in suicidal behavior. Inappropriate Laughter….is Hilarious!

I’ve learned a lot about laughing at times / situations when most adults don’t laugh and/or when it’s considered inappropriate by social norms theory (ie at a fail video such as a person falling down or getting hurt).  Social Psychologists have developed many possible reasons that can be attributed to this phenomenon along with fully developed theoretical paradigms, “Relief Theory” and “Social Superiority Theory” are two that often come up.

Chris Cornell: Psychotropic Drugs & Suicidality Plus Some Amazing Performances & Excerpts from a Previously Unpublished Interview w/ Rolling Stone

Read or listen to me discuss and illustrate how Chris Cornell’s suicide was caused by a Psychiatric Episode likely caused by medication. Also included are diverse performances by Cornell, previously unpublished excerpts from a Rolling Stone Interview in 2014 and information about how to access help along with the long overdue guidelines for the treatment of patients with Mixed Depressive Episodes which could have likely prevented this senseless death.

My Purple Tribute to Prince [Updated – Intro & Solo Only]

Those who know me, know I’ve been a huge fan of Prince since I was 9 years old and while I have learned to play portions of his songs or dumbed down versions of entire songs. Those who know me, also know I embrace technology. So for the purists, I apologize.

That said, I did play all the music in this song, but that doesn’t mean I’m a good piano player or can shred the guitar like it sounds. What I can do is record one hand of the piano at a time (give me a break, I’ve only recently been teaching myself) and play the fast parts of a solo slow and turbo charge them to his Purpleness’s speed. Again, my apologies to the purists. Maybe one day I won’t need to use performance enhancing technological tricks. Until then, perhaps some kudos for transparency or reposting just the intro and solo? No, ok, move on, nothing to see (or hear…um….here).
PS There’s a very good chance that this will be yanked down by yours truly as it definitely needs polishing and you can thank me in advance for only posting the intro and guitar solo, (which I definitely put a lot into) and not including the entire track w/ vocals (yet). Big thanks to my 11 year old daughter for helping me with the string arrangement. If you want talent, she’s the one with it, even if she refused to do the vocals – either solo or duet (pre-teens…oh well).
